The Cathedral is closed in order for us to hold Wales’ National Service of Prayer and Reflection for HM the Queen on Friday 16th September. We will re-open on Sunday 18th September from 10am to 4pm. Our only service that day will be our 11.15am Eucharist.
As we were unable to hold services last Sunday, you can watch a special recorded service in memory of HM the Queen that we prepared for Sunday morning by clicking here
The thoughts and prayers of so many within our Cathedral, and the wider community, will very naturally be with the Queen’s family at this sad time. For many of us she was the only British Monarch we have ever known, and her influence upon the history of the United Kingdom, and indeed the world, is impossible to overstate.
Unlike for the Church of England, she was not the Church in Wales’ Supreme Governor; nevertheless, in addition to the impeccable manner in which she has carried out her Royal duties for over seventy years, she was a wonderful example to so many of us who endeavour to live our lives according to Christian principles, whatever our denominational affiliation.
May she rest in peace, and rise in glory.
The Acting Dean
